      SGMicroelectronics introduces the SGM8196, a 70V input common-mode voltage and
high voltage side current detection amplifier.
The device is suitable for current monitoring solutions in DC motor control, communication systems, photovoltaics,
battery charging devices, precision current sources, computing products, and precision power applications.


The SGM8196 is a current detection amplifier designed for high common-mode voltage applications
and supports single-supply operating voltages from 2.7V to 5.5V,
as well as dual-supply operating voltages from -14.5V to 5.5V.
It has a wide common-mode voltage range from 2.9V to 70V in single-supply mode
and from (-VS) + 2.9V to (-VS) + 70V in dual-supply mode.
The chip is designed to convert the differential voltage of the high-side shunt resistor into
an output voltage relative to the reference ground (GND).
The SGM8196 can also withstand input common-mode voltages from -75V to 75V,
which provides a safer and more reliable guarantee for current detection in the presence of
inductive loads or in the presence of parasitic inductance in the line.
The SGM8196 is available in four different gain configurations on a single chip: 20V/V, 25V/V, 50V/V or 100V/V.
Four different gains can be flexibly configured online through IO to meet the needs of high dynamic,
low loss, and high precision current detection.
SGM8196 also has the advantages of high bandwidth, fast response, high CMRR, low VOS and so on.
In addition, the SGM8196 comes in environmentally friendly SOIC-8 and TSSOP-8 green packages
and operates stably in the temperature range from -40 ° C to +125 ° C.
