SGMicroelectronics has introduced the SGM2535 series products, which are single-channel,
high-precision electronic fuse chips that support the sleep standard of SATA™ devices.
With an operating voltage of 2.7V to 18V, a conduction resistance of 34mΩ (typical value), and a maximum continuous current of 5.3A,
the internal integration of back-to-back FETs enables a fast shutdown response of 1.8μs for reverse voltage.
The chip is suitable for various power system protection scenarios in power supplies with a wide range of power supply,
such as SSD drives and enterprise micro-servers.

The SGM2535 series provides complete fault protection functions, including reverse current blocking,
load current indicator output, adjustable output current limit, adjustable input undervoltage/overvoltage protection,
adjustable output soft-start rate, and thermal shutdown. The chip adopts an environmentally friendly TQFN - 3×4 - 20L green package,
and the operating temperature range is from -40℃ to +125℃.

Core Features of SGM2535 SG Micro Corp
1. The SGM2535 has a low conduction resistance of 34mΩ, which can significantly reduce losses in high-current scenarios and improve system efficiency.
2. The SGM2535 supports an input voltage of up to 18V, and the adjustable soft-start rate effectively reduces the input inrush current, protects downstream high-current sensitive devices, and suppresses voltage fluctuations at the input end.

3. The SGM2535 internally integrates a reverse current blocking function, which can respond to reverse voltage events within 1.8μs and resume normal operation after the event is removed.

4. The SGM2535 is connected to an external current-limiting resistor, and the output current limit is adjustable from 0.6A to 5.3A,
with a current limit accuracy of ±9%. The voltage at the IMON pin can be used for load current monitoring,
with an accuracy of up to ±8%. When the output is overloaded or short-circuited for a long time,
the self-recovery version (SGM2535A) chip will hiccup due to over-temperature protection and
resume normal operation after the abnormal state is removed,
and the latched (SGM2535AL) version chip needs to enter the restart sequence by powering down or
EN/UVLO powering down after thermal shutdown. During thermal shutdown,
the nFAULT pin provides an abnormal status indication.

5.The SGM2535 series chips have built-in overvoltage/undervoltage thresholds
with an accuracy of ±2.3%.Different thresholds of input overvoltage/undervoltage
protection can be achieved through an external resistor divider,
and normal operation will resume after the abnormal state is removed.

SGM2535 Application case

1. Applied as an electronic fuse in enterprise SSD drives, it can provide various protection functions for downstream loads,
such as reverse voltage blocking, current limiting, load current monitoring, surge protection, overvoltage/undervoltage protection,
status indication, and thermal shutdown.

2. Applied in the power-off protection and data retention scenario in SSD drive systems.
The SGM2535 series products can ensure that in harsh scenarios such as hot swapping,
the connection between the downstream device and the front-stage bus is disconnected through reverse voltage detection and
undervoltage protection. This can avoid the additional charge loss of the capacitor bank,
contribute to the retention of critical data, and reduce the system's demand for the capacity of the capacitor bank.
