SGMicroelectronics has introduced the SGM61060Q, a 2.9V to 6V input, 6A, automotive-grade synchronous buck converter.
This device can be applied in automotive digital instruments, ADAS sensor fusion, surround view electronic control units, digital cockpits, etc.

 
The SGM61060Q is a highly efficient 6A synchronous buck converter that integrates power MOSFETs and supports a wide input range of 2.9V to 6V.
This chip adopts a fixed-frequency peak current mode control, optimized for high-density applications,
and uses a minimal number of external components. By selecting a switching frequency of up to 2MHz,
smaller inductor and capacitor values can be used to reduce the size of peripheral devices. Through the enable input (EN) and the power good output indication (PG),
it is convenient to perform timing control of two or more power supplies.

 
The SGM61060Q integrates rich protection functions,
including cycle-by-cycle current limiting of the high-side (HS) and low-side (LS) switches to achieve overload protection and current runaway protection.
The low-side switch also has reverse current limiting to prevent excessive reverse current from damaging the device.
The thermal protection function can prevent the device from being damaged due to over-temperature.
When the junction temperature is higher than the shutdown threshold,
the device will stop working, and it will automatically restart when the junction temperature drops to the turn-on threshold.

 
The SGM61060Q complies with the AEC-Q100 standard and is suitable for automotive applications,
adopting an environmentally friendly TQFN-3×3-16EL green package.
