SG MICRO launches the SGM6604, a 20V output voltage synchronous boost converter. This device is suited for applications in PMOLED power supplies, wearable devices, portable medical devices, and sensor power supplies.

The SGM6604 is a fully integrated synchronous boost converter featuring a 20V main power switch and input/output isolation switches. When the SGM6604 is in shutdown mode, the isolation switch provides true load disconnect functionality. The device can start from an input voltage of 1.85V, making it suitable for single-cell lithium-ion batteries or two series-connected alkaline batteries. It can provide up to 20V output, making it an excellent choice for PMOLED panel bias and high-voltage applications in compact solutions.

By connecting the FB pin to the VIN pin, the SGM6604 has an internally fixed 12V output voltage setting, requiring only three external components to achieve this output. It features a typical switch current limit of 1.12A and a built-in soft start time of 6ms to minimize surge currents. Disabling the SGM6604 through the EN pin disconnects the output from the input, minimizing leakage current. The device also incorporates various protection features such as output short-circuit, output over-voltage, and thermal shutdown.

The SGM6604 is available in an environmentally friendly SOT-23-6 green package and operates within a temperature range of -40°C to +85°C.
